Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio 2.9L V6 Bi-Turbo Performance Exhaust Systems Now Available

Petrolheads of the world rejoice, Alfa Romeo has finally produced a rear-wheel drive BMW M3 fighter than you can buy with your head as well as your heart, the Giulia Quadrifoglio. For far too long Milan’s finest has traded on past glories, and its performance saloon offerings have all too often fallen someway short of its Germanic rival just north of the border, but no longer. Never one to ignore the launch of a significant performance model, Milltek Sport has wasted no time in drawing up a range of performance exhaust offerings for the Quadrifoglio, more information on which can be found below.

In line with the vast majority of Milltek’s offerings, the firm’s Alfa Romeo range can be ordered in a wide variety of different configurations, effectively giving those lucky enough to own one of these thundering cars freedom to spec the system which best reflects their personality. The range opens with an axle-back offering, an option which makes a great deal of sense for those that fancy making their car sound that bit more aggressive without having to drastically alter the rest of the OEM-fitted hardware. Not only does the axle-back system look and sound superb, it comes with electronically controlled valves which can be used to toggle the volume and character of the exhaust note.

Those seeking to utterly transform the character of their Quadrifoglio would be well advised to plump for Milltek’s cat-back option, though even this can be specified in either resonated or non-resonated forms, with the latter having the potential to make the new Alfa sound not unlike a thunderstorm when at full chat! Even the fully resonated version will bring about significant improvements in both noise and performance, and this is entirely down to its construction; the core of the system consists of a pair of 70mm stainless steel pipes, both shown to exhibit superb gas-flow properties – and that’s before we touch upon the ability of the electronic valves to further hone the character of the exhaust note!

No matter which configuration buyers plump for, they will be able to further personalize it through a choice of 5 different GT-100 tail pipe options. All boast a quad pipe design, and all will look superb poking out from the rear valance of the Quadrifoglio. The tail trims available include one with a polished finish, a Cerakote Black finish, Titanium or burnt Titanium, or for those who really wish to stand out from the crowd, motorsport grade carbon fibre.

Evidence of Milltek’s mastery of the dark art of exhaust manufacture can be seen in the stunning construction of the Alfa system, with type-304 aircraft grade steel used throughout, not to mention the kind of welding which can only truly be described as a work of art. Further clues as to the amount of modern thinking utilised in the creation of the system can be found in the pipework itself, with each and every bend having been created using Milltek's state of the art, hi-flow mandrel bending machine. This in turn has imbued the exhaust with superb gas flow properties.

The Milltek system's construction credentials are beyond reproach then, but so too is its performance potential – only fitting on a car like the Quadrifoglio. Extensive dyno testing of Milltek's own demo car has shown impressive power gains, not to mention hikes in torque throughout the rev range, and all achieved without in any way detracting from the Alfa’s innate character. The infamous six-pot's noise, a mix between a brooding grumble and a menacing howl, has also been subtly enhanced, making it all the better for those B-road blasts spent pretending to be Tazio Nuvolari.
